Mumbai, May 29:
A 26-year-old nurse has lodged a complaint at the Chembur police station on Monday evening accusing a doctor of having raped her.

An officer said the nurse joined Joy Hospital in Chembur in 2005 and soon after she got into an affair with Dr Deepak Khedekar of the hospital. “Four months ago she came to know of her pregnancy during a routine medical check up,” he said.

The nurse has alleged that the doctor had promised to marry her. “When Khedekar came to know about the pregnancy, he allegedly asked her to abort the child,”  Prakash Boparai, senior police inspector at the Chembur police station, said.

Another officer said the nurse had a miscarriage after the doctor allegedly gave her some pills. Boparai said an FIR had been registered.
