Mangaluru: New science block of St Aloysius PU College inaugurated

Mangaluru, Aug 1: “Jesuit education believes in instilling scientific thinking imbued with compassion in the creation of a stable society and this state of the art edifice of learning stands testimony to these ideals,” opined Fr Dr Stanislaus D’souza SJ, provincial of Karnataka Jesuit province addressing the gathering on the occasion of the inaugural of the new science block of St Aloysius PU College.










The official inauguration of the science block was conducted after the eucharistic celebration on the occasion of the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola on July 31.

Following the cutting of the ribbon by the chief guest Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ and the unveiling of the plaque by Fr Leo D’souza SJ, Fr Dr Stanislaus D’souza SJ blessed the new edifice and congratulated everyone who was involved in the project. Fr Dr Stanislaus D’souza SJ led the ceremony of blessing the interior of the building followed by Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ and Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, on the ground, first, second and the third floor respectively.

The chief guest Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ whose brain child this mega project is, in his address congratulated the management, the benefactors and the staff for making this vision a reality. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, rector of St Aloysius institutions welcomed the gathering and the principal Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ proposed the vote of thanks. The architect Praveen Saldanha, contractor Richard Rodrigues, electrical contractor Prakash, site supervisor Harish and the others were felicitated. Reena J Monteiro compered the programme and Dr Pradeep M and Kiran Shetty, deans were the coordinators of the programme.
