Bengaluru, Aug 7: The special investigating team (SIT) entrusted with the task of corruption scam which reportedly took place in Lokayukta institution, raided official residence and office of the state Lokayukta Y Bhaskar Rao on Thursday August 6. It is reported that during the raid, the team could lay hands on some important documents.
The raid seems to have lent credence to the demand for the ouster of Justice Y Bhaskar Rao as Lokayukta, which is turning into a crescendo. It is said that the raid was being carried out since the last three days, but the information was kept under wraps in the interests of investigation.
It is learnt that investigating officer, Labhu Ram, led the raids.
It may be recalled that after information about alleged corrupt practices in Lokayukta began to pour out in installments, Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao had shown inclination to proceed on long leave.
