Akshara turns 'innocent' bride for Rina Dhaka's show

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS): Actress Akshara Haasan was happy to make a simple but effective fashion statement when she walked the ramp in a bridal creation by designer Rina Dhaka here on Sunday.

The "Shamitabh" actress was here for the seventh edition of the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2015, and looked graceful in a light pink lehenga with pink embellishments. The 'choli' (top) had 3D flowers stiched to it.

Talking about the collection, Akshara, who is the daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, told IANS: "What I really like about it is the simplicity of the collection. It makes a statement, but subtly. So it's very simple, sweet and young."

Dhaka showcased lehengas, saris, capes and and sari gowns. The interesting use of pleats was an attraction.

Dhaka told IANS: "My inspiration for the line was innocence and freshness of the flowers in bloom, and I tried to put these elements."

There were a total of 24 ensembles, for which Dhaka took three months to research. The colour palette was dominated by gold, peach, pink and red.

Models sashayed down the ramp in light make-up and minimal jewellery and they walked the ramp with the "Godfather" music playing in the background.
