Mumbai, Jun 11: Well-known builder and hotelier, Y T Shetty, a native of Suratkal who was kidnapped from Greater Mumbai on Friday June 8 night has returned home on Monday June 11.

The family and friends of Shetty heaved a sigh of relief as they were worried since he disappeared.  Y Timmayya Shetty(62), veteran hotelier and proprietor of Sachin Corporation engaged in building, was kidnapped by a group of masked men as he was walking towards his residence after alighting from an autorickshaw on Friday night.  The kidnappers forced him to sign the papers by torturing him mentally throughout the journey.  At last, he was left alone on a deserted road. 

He then realized that he was at Vapi, in Gujarat.  As he was longing to reach his family, he boarded a tempo and reached Kashi Meera, from where he took an autorickshaw and reached home at 2-05 a.m, said his son Ashwini Shetty, to the reporters when they visited him at his residence.

He was admitted to Hiranandani Hospital at Powai, as he took ill soon after reaching home.  Police officers from Andheri and Powai police station visited him to get clear information on the incidence.  Despite of this, they have not taken any legal action, informed Ashwin Shetty.

Hospital sources stated that he is out of danger.  However, additional treatments are underway while the report on his state of health would be ready by tomorrow, his son said.

He has been residing in Raheja Vihar Blue Heaven at Chandivali, Powai, Andheri (E) with his wife and two sons and two daughters.  He owns Ashwini Restaurant and Bar, at Safed Pool, Andheri Kurla Road, in the outskirts of Mumbai.
