Udupi, Aug 15: A week after a boy was found dead, a diary belonging to him has been discovered.
Prajwal (14), the only son of coolie worker Vittal Acharya and his wife Prema, was found hanging on Sunday, August 9 at Nilavar near here. Prajwal was the 9th standard student of Kunjalu V K Acharya high school. He did not come back home on Saturday, August 8 evening as usual. When two teams went in search of him, his body was found hanging on the branch of a tree on a hill near Nilavar. The belt from the school bag was used for hanging. The doctors from Pethri government hospital who performed the post mortem opined that it was a suicide. The post mortem report was sent to Brahmavar police.
Prajwal was an introvert who did not mix much with others. The teachers from the school had sent intimation to his parents that he was absent to school for duration of a week. After that he left the home in the morning saying he was going to school. But it was learned that he did not go to school. Many questions remained unanswered after his death. Now a diary was discovered in the room of the deceased. The diary was written reportedly on August 7 a day before he went missing.
‘I have not been to school for a week. I have decided to go to school from Saturday. I will not take leave henceforth. My mother is not aware that people have been hurt by my leave.’ the diary reads and there is a signature of Prajwal on it.
Though the diary says that Prajwal was sad, his mourning parents do not believe that he committed suicide. They have demanded a proper investigation into the incident.
