Bengaluru, Aug 18: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that his government will take strict action against any government official found to be involved in corrupt activities. He was speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Monday, August 17.
When asked whether the government will take action against senior IAS officer Kapil Mohan , Siddaramaiah said “My government will not hesitate to take action against any official involved in any type of corrupt activities,”
Based on the information provided by two bookies arrested by the Hubballi police, the CID and income tax officials raided an apartment belonging to Kapil Mohan on Saturday at Maple Block, Golden Grand properties in Yeshwanthpur in Bengaluru and found Rs 4.37 crore cash, gold and diamonds worth crores and property documents. The raid was made weeks after senior IPS officer Alok Kumar was suspended in connection with the single-digit lottery scam.
Kapil Mohan is presently the principal secretary to the department of youth services and sports. After the raid he has become the central figure in cricket betting racket. With the promise and warning coming from the chief minister himself on Monday, more action is expected from the law agencies in relation to Kapil Mohan.
The CID also on Monday arrested Indian cCivil accounts service officer Sandeep Dash in a multi-crore mutual fund scam in the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
