Medical firm staff accused of raping woman in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IANS): A 21-year-old married woman has accused an employee of a private medical firm of raping her, Delhi Police said on Thursday.

The incident allegedly took place on Wednesday in Dwarka Sector-12 area of west Delhi where the woman reached the office of the medical firm to meet Vinay Kumar, the accused, for some work.

In her complaint, the woman said: "I had gone to meet Vinay Kumar at his office for some official purpose. He was alone in the firm when I reached there. Finding the opportunity, he attacked me, tore my clothes and raped me."

"He also threatened me of dire consequences if I tried to approach the police or told anyone about the incident," the woman told police.

Police said they have registered a case following the complaint.

"We have questioned Vinay but he is yet to be arrested due to lack of circumstantial evidences and due to discrepancies in the woman's statement. The woman is changing her statement regularly," a officer said.

Vinay Kumar, 26, works as a peon with the firm, police said.
