Mangaluru, Aug 21: Tension prevailed at Gantalkatte in Moodbidri near here on Thursday August 21, after a clash erupted between activists of a right-wing outfit and persons belonging to another community.
It is said the right-wing activists, on receiving credible information, raided a spot near Gantalkatte junction where cattle had been tied, alleging that the animals were meant for illegal slaughterhouse.
Angered at this, youths belonging to another community protested and arguments arose between the two groups. The arguments soon snowballed into a full-fledged brawl.
A team of four policemen rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control, but tension continued to prevail. Finally, the police were able to calm down the two groups.
Sources said that at least three persons from the right-wing outfit have been admitted to hospital.
Man unzips!
Meanwhile, in a bizarre incident, a man at the spot approached a reporter from a news channel who was video recording the brawl, and allegedly unzipped his trousers, challenging the reporter to film his act. Another person who noticed mediapersons at the spot quickly intervened and took the man away.
