Rajnath reviews flood situation in Assam


New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday reviewed the flood situation in Assam and assured "all possible assistance" to the flood-affected people of the state.

The home minister telephoned Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who briefed him about the floods situation in 13 districts of the state.

"Spoke to Assam CM Tarun Gogoi regarding the flood situation in the state. Central and state agencies are carrying out relief and rescue operations," Rajnath Singh wrote in a message on Twitter.

"Assured the Assam CM of all possible assistance from the Centre to help the people in flood-affected areas of the state," the home minister added.
