"We will begin our protest on September 3 from Mangaldevi Temple at around 11am followed by prayers in Hazarath Sayyad Bibhi Dargha,Rosario Church and Koragajja Temple in Kuthar. Also we will hold awareness campaign against the project through Padayatra on September 3 which will commence from the premises of Venkatramana Temple in Carstreet. Handbills on the awareness will also be distributed. On September 18, a chariot creating awareness on Yettinahole integrated drinking water project will tour all taluks in the district." Yogish added.
Yogish also said that Tulunada Rakshana Vedhike will join and support the national highway bandh on September 15.
Speaking on this occasion, social activist M G Hegde said "Many taluks in the districts are suffering without drinking water. First provide water to the taluks of the Dakshina Kannada which has scarcity of drinking of water before carrying water from here. In the last five years Rs 10 crore has been spent for the drinking projects in Belthangady taluk alone. Even if you do not implement smart city project, that is fine. But do not make a draught city. People need not expect the support from the political representatives. They should involve themselves and make it a major campaign. Various community organizations in the district should come forward to take up this issue and join the cause to save river Nethravathi."
Commenting on District Kannada sahitya sammelana organized by the Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat which is scheduled to take place in Kateel, he said that literature should focus on the problems of the society. "In future we may form Karavali sahitya parishad with only cause to save Nethravathi river." Hegde added.
In a strong warning to the administration, Hegde asked to organize public hearing of the affected people of project with the experts. He said if the public hearing is not held, indefinite harathal will be observed in the district in coming days.
He requested Dr Veerendra Heggade to ask the political representatives to organize the public hearing the city regarding the proposed Yethinahole project.
