Mangaluru, Aug 29: An auto driver was found murdered inside his rickshaw at Natekal under Ullal police limits here on Saturday August 29.
Hidayath (28), a resident of Alekal was reportedly murdered on the night of Friday August 28. The incident came to light on Saturday.
It is said that Hidayath left from home on Friday at around 8.30 pm in his auto but did not return home. On Saturday late morning, he was found dead in his auto rickshaw near Sankesha in Natekal.
It is suspected that he was hit on the head with a heavy stone and a rod.
Hidayath, who operates his auto rickshaw in Thokkottu area, had divorced his first wife and married again.
Hidayath's brother alleged that a person named Farooq had threatened to kill Hidayath two days ago. Farooq is said to be the younger brother of Hidayath's first wife.
ACP Kalyan Shetty, SI Bharati and other police personnel visited the spot. Forensic experts were also called.
Ullal police are investigating.
