Mangaluru, Aug 31: In connection to the murder of Hidayath, an auto driver who was found dead in his rickshaw a couple of days ago, the police have arrested his first wife.
Fazila (28) from Ullal Alekala near here, the first wife of Hidayath, was arrested by Ullal police.
Hidayath was killed by attacking him with sticks and crushing him with stones near Kukkudakatte on Sankesh Road near Natekal, Ullal on the night of Friday August 28.
The police have been searching for Farooq, Fazila's brother, and some others, concerning this murder case.
Hidayath from Ullal Alekala, had been led to Sankesh in the guise of hiring his vehicle on Friday night. He was murdered near Sankesh. On the face of it, the police had strong reasons to believe that the victim's wife, Fazila, and her brothers were involved with this murder, after they learnt about marital discord between the couple.
A day before he was slain, Hidayath had filed a complaint in Ullal police station, alleging that he was facing threat to his life from the family members of his first wife. On the basis of this letter, Fazila was taken into custody and produced in court by Ullal police. Some others including Fazila's brother, who were supposedly involved in this killing, are at large. Ullal police are continuing with investigation.
