It is the usual scenario in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that when fog covers all over the road, vehicles become easy targets of road accidents and medium for casualties. Often people drive their vehicles off the road to avoid accidents while the speed remains the same.

Sometimes the roads and highways get hazy to give a look of a mere smokescreen. People have keep their headlights on while driving for safety's sake. The visibility is very low while driving many a time. Even the skyscrapers seem to be invisible in its effect. Cross roads and main roads always pose hazards to people who drive the vehicles fast.

If extreme care is not taken in foggy conditions, a string of accidents could be the end result. Most of the vehicles get severely damaged in serial accidents and can only be put into the scrap-yard. It is not advisable and worthwhile for the vehicle drivers to drive their vehicles while the road is not very visible because of smog.

Here are some pictures of mishaps, which were not effect of Gonu or anything of that kind,  but a series of road accidents, which took place recently on Dammam and Al-Khobar highway in misty and cloudy conditions. It can be seen here that some of the cars got crashed and mangled between other speeding vehicles, perhaps for no fault of their drivers.

With the pictures of the Gonu effect too fresh in our readers' minds, these may be mistaken for something similar. But they are all caused by foggy conditions, added to by human errors in most likelihood.
