Puttur, June 22: A country (desi) breed pet dog named “Chinnu”, which went missing from the home of Ganesh Kera in Polya near Kabaka in Puttur, has been found after a three-week search.

The dog was traced by Purandara, also a resident of the Polya area, following which the owner handed over the promised Rs 50,000 reward.

Ganesh Kera, a dog lover who keeps around 30 dogs of various breeds at his residence, had mounted an extensive search for Chinnu after it disappeared. The dog had earlier suffered from fits and had lost control of its legs.

Chinnu went missing around three weeks ago, prompting Kera to launch a coordinated search effort. He shared details on social media and put up banners across various parts of the town appealing for information. He had also announced a ?50,000 reward for anyone who found the dog or provided leads on its whereabouts.

Following its recovery, Kera expressed his happiness on social media and ensured the reward was paid. “Chinnu has returned home. We have given Rs 50,000 to Purandara of Polya who found and brought the dog back,” he said.

The reward was handed over as promised.
