Mangalore, Jun 27: C N Shetty, president of KSSIA informed the media here on Tuesday June 26 that his election as the president of Kanara Small Scale Industries Association (KSSIA) at Baikampady has been upheld by the court.
Addressing the media persons he said that the petition filed by K Ramachandra Bhat and others was rejected by the second Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division).
The court observed that the postponement of the annual general body meeting of the Association and the dismissal of the election officer on September 30, 2006 was illegal. The court also upheld the act of election officer D H Shetty and has ordered that the governing body headed by C N Shetty should continue.
Shetty informed the press that as per the court’s order the committee comprising of vice-president K A Narayan Bhat, secretary M Govind Bhat, treasurer M Lingappa, Claret D’Souza, Bharat Kumar, Sharatchandra Shetty, Srinivas Achar, Dayanand Rai, S S Shettigar, Hemanth Kumar, Mumtaz Ali, Radhakrishna Khandige, Najeer B A Ramesh Rao, Ullas Shetty, M J Shetty, K S Kamat and Ramachanra Shetty and including him as the president of the Committee is a valid body.
