Udupi, Sep 8: Manipal police who raided a rented house on a tip off held a young male and three women from the place on Monday, September 7.
As per information, a couple on 6 th Cross in Ishwarnagar in Manipal had rented out their house for the purpose of prostitution business and engaged a woman of North Indian origin to run the business. Police personnel from the Manipal police station who received information about the same from a reliable source raided the place and took into possession a male youth from Udupi and three women who allegedly were engaged in prostitution. One woman is from Moodubettu , another from Mysuru, and the place of the third woman is yet to be confirmed.
All the four have been produced before the magistrate. The couple who owned the house are absconding. Sources said that the couple were running same business in other places of Udupi. But after the people came to know about their operations, they bought the house at Ishwarnagar and continued the same until it was raided on Monday.
