Bantwal: Driver attacked, government bus damaged

Bantwal, Sep 13: An Airavatha luxury KSRTC bus travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru was damaged and the driver of the bus was attacked on Friday late night, it has been leant.

As per sources, the bus stopped on the side of road at Kaikamba junction near B C Road to take a passenger. A known rowdy who was a passerby complained that he was disturbed by the bus. He allegedly damaged the bus and attacked the driver of the bus physically.

The chaos on the road was so much that the bus had to remain on the road for about one and half hour. The police personnel who were on patrol came to the rescue and took the bus to the police station. A substitute bus was sent from Mangaluru to take the passengers to Bengaluru.

Bus driver complained to the police and the accused rowdy was called to the police station. As the accused and the driver of the bus reached an amicable 'settlement' later , case was not registered , it is said.
