Mangaluru, Sep 15: In an incident reported from Sasihithlu near Suratkal on the night of Sunday September 13, death threat was reportedly posed to an entrepreneur. In connection with this incident, five persons were arrested by the police.

The arrested have been identified as Govardhan, Somashekhar, Puneet, Bhaskar and Chetan.

A person from Mumbai had recently bought land at Aggidakaliya, Sasihithlu. He had given the contract to a real estate businessman Dhanraj Kotian for land filling and levelling the land. It is said that Dhanraj had been handling this work for some days. It is learnt that Bhaskar alias Bachu repeatedly harassed Dhanraj to part with protection money to him from out of the contract money he earned.

It is said that the accused along with four others confronted Dhanraj on Sunday night duly armed with sabres and posed death threat. Relating to this, a complaint was lodged at Suratkal police station.
