Mangaluru: Thieves break into house, steal cash, gold

Mangaluru, Sep 15: A complaint of theft has been received by Suratkal police from a resident of Hosabettu village.

The theft reportedly occurred at a house located in Green Pitch area at Hosabettu village. The house in question belongs to Rajesh Bhandary J. He had left for his native place, Karinja in Bantwal taluk, on Saturday, along with family members. When he returned home on Sunday September 13 evening, he said he found to his shock that the lock of the front door had been broken open.

Ten sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 2,000 cash kept inside a cupboard in the bedroom of the house, were found to be stolen. A case about the incident was registered at Suratkal police station and officials have taken up investigation.
