Hubballi, Sep 17: Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik said on Wednesday that state government should be blamed for the murder of Prof M M Kalburgi.

“Though the murdered professor was facing threat to his life, security cover for him was withdrawn. Cameras were also not installed at Kalburgi's house and even plain clothed police were not deployed for his protection. Home Minister K J George should be blamed for all these lapses which made the killers' work easier." Muthalik said in a press meet in Hubballi.

Muthalik said that attempts were being made to shield the killers by targeting Hindu organisations. "Sri Rama Sene is prepared for any kind of probe by any agency in connection with Kalburgi’s murder." Muthalik challenged.

Muthalik also said "The writers, who took out a protest march in Dharwad on September 14, named Sri Rama Sene behind the murder of Kalburgi in their memorandum submitted to the deputy commissioner. We will send legal notices to all these 138 writers who signed the memorandum asking them to furnish any evidence on the involvement of Sri Rama Sene in the murder.”
