Mangalore: Meet our Editors programme held by Konkani Writers’ Forum

Mangalore, Jul 8: A rare programme ‘Meet our Editors’ was held by Konkani Writers’ Forum Karnataka at Sandesha, in Mangalore on Sunday Jul 8.

‘For the editor, the readers are the utmost priority and then are the writers’ said Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor of ‘Rakno’ diocesan weekly. 



He was delivering the key note address at a symposium ‘meet our editors’ organized  by Konkani Writers’ Forum Karnataka at Sandesha, Mangalore on Sunday Jul 8.

He expressed the difficulties and hassles faced by the editor of Konkani periodicals, in giving good reading to the readers.  John Monis, editor of ‘Dirvem’ another weekly, spoke on the relationship of the reader, editor and the writer. Lloyd Rego, editor of ‘Mithr’ and Francis D’Souza of ‘Jehlo’ monthly, expressed their views on Konkani journalism.



Following this, a discussion on the above topic was held moderated by Dolphy Lobo, secretary of the forum.

Dr. Edward Nazareth, while welcoming the audience said that this is a rare symposium, where the editors of various periodicals are sharing a common platform and discussing their difficulties, with writers and readers.
