New Delhi, Jul 9: The mortal remains of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, who died in New Delhi on Sunday, will be cremated will full state honours on the banks of the Yamuna in New Delhi on Monday.

The funeral will take place at 5 pm at Ekta Sthal near the 'samadhis' of former Presidents Giani Zail Singh, Shankar Dayal Sharma and K R Narayanan.

The funeral procession will start at 4 pm from the late leader's 3, South Avenue official re government has declared a seven-day state mourning as a mark of respect for the veteran socialist leader who died this morning after a long battle with cancer.

The national flag will fly at half mast during the mourning period, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

Central government establishments in the capital will remain closed from 1.30 pm on Monday to enable mourners to join the funeral.
