Mangalore, Jul 9: A speeding bus knocked down a bicycle rider to death near Kaikamba bus stand here on Sunday July 8 night.
The deceased has been identified as Purushotham (18), a resident of Bajpe-Kaikamba near here. On Sunday night, he was on his way home when a bus rammed into his bicycle.
As a result, Purushotham fell on the road, sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Sources said that excessive bleeding resulted in his instant death. Recklessness and negligence of the bus driver is said to be the cause for the fatal accident.
