Jammu, Jul 9: National Conference President Omar Abdullah escaped unhurt when militants lobbed two grenades on a house in Kupwara district targeting him.
Three CRPF jawans and a special police officer were, however, injured in the attack, which came minutes after Abdullah addressed a rally in Kupwara district.
Omar was inside the house of senior party worker at Kraligund in Handwara, when unidentified ultras fired two grenades in quick succession around 3.45 pm (IST).
Both grenades exploded 300 metres away from the house resulting in injuries to three CRPF personnel and SPO Fayaz Ahmad.
The entire area was immediately cordoned off by the police assisted by security forces and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the attack.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
