Doha: Tulu Koota to host Arjun Janya Live in Concert on Oct 30

Doha, Sep 19: Come October 30 and a large number of Kannadigas working and living in Qatar will have a rare opportunity to witness music stars of Sandalwood in particular and to hear whole of Sandalwood, Bollywood and Tulu cinematic songs in general.

Young and popular music director Arjun Janya popularly known as 'Magical Composer', Vijay Prakash of 'Khali Quarter Batli' fame, another young sensation Indu Nagaraj who is best known for blockbuster Kannada song ‘Pyarge Agbittaite’, Chinmay winner of Zee Kannada's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa who has also made a name for himself in Sandalwood will be the part of the much-anticipated Arjun Janya Live in Concert that would be held on Friday October 30 at the DPS Auditorium here.

They will be accompanied by two sensational Mangalurean sisters who have gained immense popularity in Sandalwood and silver screen - popular playback singer Anuradha Bhat and livewire anchor Anupama Bhat.

Tulu Koota has decided to dedicate this concert to the loving memory of its former president Prakash Chandra Ajila who passed away recently. It would be a glorious tribute to a great leader, humble friend and loving human being Prakash Chandra Ajila whose death has left everyone in great shock. Tulu Koota president Ravi Shetty said on an emotional note, "As this mega event was already planned when Ajila was still around and he had also attended the preparatory meeting of this event on his last day too as part of the preliminary planning team. Hosting it successfully would be a small way of paying tribute to the great soul who had contributed immensely to the development of Tulu Koota." He also felt that the whole of expatriate community specially Kannadigas will echo the same sentiment and ensure that the event will be successful.

Arjun Janya and Vijay Prakash who are currently judges at the Zee Kannada Sa Re Ga Ma Pa have a great fan following among the young generation of music lovers. While Arjun is considered to be one of the best young music composers in the South Indian cinema industry, Vijay Prakash is known to be a versatile singer who has lent his voice to hundreds of Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. He is also one of the four singers credited for the song, "Jai Ho", which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Up and coming Indu Nagaraj is the voice behind the chartbuster Kannada song ‘Pyarge Agbittaite’ from Kannada film Govindaya Namaha.

Mangalurean Anuradha Bhat does not need an introduction. She is one of the most popular voices in Kannada film industry and is credited with many popular songs. She has lent her voice to almost all the popular music directors of Sandalwood. Other than playback singing for movies, Anuradha Bhat has sung more than 5,000 songs in 13 different languages (Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Sanskrit, Kodava, Badaga, Lambaani and English) for several other music projects like devotional, folk, bhaavageethe, pop albums, remix songs, children’s rhymes, ad films/jingles and TV serials. "Chinnu - Kannada Rhymes - Vol 1,2, and 3", all the 3 series rendered by Anuradha Bhat, got her fame even among the toddlers in India and abroad.

Anuradha’s younger sister Anupama Bhat would be the compere for the concert. Anupama is a well-known VJ, TV show hostess and actress. She was also one of the participants of the Big Boss (Kannada) Season-2.

The Oxygen Dance Troupe will heat up on the floor with sensational and electrifying dance performances.
