Mangaluru, Sep 20: Two men who were travelling to Moodbidri from Mangaluru were attacked near Handelu by a gang of six on Sunday September 20.
Vasu Acharya (32) and Ashok (30) from Naravi were allegedly attacked with sharp weapons by six persons who came on three bikes. Both of them sustained injuries.
It is learnt that the duo had gone to Kulshekar to attend a Ganeshotsava function as they are members of a band. They were returning home on Sunday morning when the incident took place.
The gang followed the duo who were on a bike and stopped them near Handelu in Puthige village. The assailants attacked them with sharp weapons, causing head and hand injuries, and fled the spot.
The locals took the injured to a hospital in Mangaluru with the help of a passing vehicle.
Moodbidri police arrived at the spot and are investigating.
