Mangalore, Jul 11: ‘Cauvery’- Karnataka State Arts And Crafts Emporium, the new showroom of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (KSHDCL) at the B R Ambedkar Bhavana near P V S Circle here will be inaugurated on Thursday July 12, said G Muniswamy, general manager (marketing) of KSHDCL.
The new showroom will be inaugurated by the deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao and B Narasimha Murthy, district Social Welfare Officer will be the chief guest, he said addressing a press conference.
Cauvery would contain the handicraft products as well as rosewood carvings, sandalwood carvings, toys, terracotta, bronze icons, Navalgund dhurries, Mundgod pile carpets, Kinhal toys, North Karnataka mirror, embroidery, Mysore paintings, and other wood carvings, he said.
He also detailed the growth of the corporation and said that the corporation achieved a net sales of Rs 36.8 crore in the year 2006-07 with a net profit of 2.5 crore in the state. The turnover of the Balmatta showroom was Rs 20 lac during the period, he added.
