Mangalore, Jul 11: The Central Market in the city is waiting for changes now. Accordingly, M Maheshwar Rao, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada paid a visit to the Central Market and surveyed it on Wednesday July 11 morning.

While on his visit, he saw the traffic disruption in and around the market area. Mean while, DC has decided to form some rules to streamline the parking of two-wheelers, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles which bring goods and groceries to the market.

The DC has also decided to vacate the street vendors from the foot path. Sources said that the new rules would come into effect from Aug.1.

City Corporation Commissioner Krishnappa Poojary, Health Officer Dr Manjayya Shetty, Assistant Health Officer Padmanabha, Assistant Revenue Officer Praveen were present on the spot with DC.

    Finally, District Administration has awakened. Mangalore central market has become a garbage market. Badly arranged and unorganized shops, improper parking area, lack of hygeine, waste spread all over the market. Shopping in and around the market has become adventure, it needs immediate revamping. Let us wait as DC in initiated a revamp to the market which give may give good breath to the fellow Mangaloreans?.

    There is need of making better use of vast space behind Rupavani upto Kamath & Co. Previously it was Felix Pai bazaar now it is a rotten bazar. Why did Maheshwar Rao didnt visit this land is a question.
