Puttur, Jul 13: Students of Vivekananda College here held the protest against the alleged atrocities of policemen who resorted to caning when the clash broke out between two groups of students of the same college.
The clash broke out between a group of students with their origins in Manipur and another group of students from the same college, on Wednesday Jul 11.
Other students boycotted the classes and held protest at the college campus on Thursday Jul 12 morning. They shouted slogans against the police for almost an hour.
College union leader Prashanth while addressing the students condemned the atrocities of police who have not held any investigations into their case. Moreover, the college students have not caused any disturbance to law and order in the campus, they said.
He has pleaded to undertake appropriate investigations into the case and thereby provide justice. Later, the office-bearers of college students union arrived at assistant commissioner's office where they submitted the memorandum.
