Mangalore, Jul 14: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Mangalore has chosen Tulu works of authors for the coveted awards for the year 2006-07. 

Tulu play ‘Maime’ written by Kadri Navaneet Shetty and research book ‘Katthalininda’ written by Naveen Kumar Marike. Either award carries a citation, Rs 5 thousand cash, and a memento.  It will be presented during a programme scheduled to be held in August 2007.

The Academy will organize ‘Madipu’ Tulu Literary Contest for their quarterly publication ‘Madipu’. It invites poetry, stories, and articles from those interested and qualify under the set rules of the contest.

Tulu stories and articles should be written in foolscap paper not exceeding six pages.  Those who wish to send their Tulu poems should restrict themselves to one page. 

There will be three prizes, first second and third.  Moreover best articles will be published in Madipu journal / bulletin.

Those interested can send their material to The registrar, Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy, Lalbagh, Mangalore 575 003 latest by Aug 15.

    We would like to see Tulu being taught in Schools & Being included in the 8th schedule of the constitution. We wish it could spearhead a Tulu revolution in and around Mangalore .
