Mangaluru: MLC Ivan to hold seminar on Smart City project in Oct

Mangaluru, Sep 26: MLC Ivan D'Souza held a press meet at his office here, on Saturday September 26 and informed that he will hold a seminar on Smart City project in the month of October.

The issues pertaining to the inclusion of Mangaluru in the list of 20 smart cities in the second stage of union government's smart city programme will be discussed in the seminar.

MLC D'Souza said, “Mangaluru City Corporation has to send a report about including Mangaluru city in the list of 20 smart cities of second stage of union government's smart city programme to the urban development department of the union government. Hence, all political party representatives, experts, institutions and general public should hold a discussion and provide suggestions, ideas that enable the report to include Mangaluru city in the list of 20 cities."

He further added, “Mangaluru city meets all the criteria necessary to make it to a smart city. Considering all political representatives, experts, educational institutions, businessmen and general public, I will hold a seminar on October 16 or 17 to discuss the action that can be taken to include Mangaluru city as a smart city among the 20 smart cities. I will prepare a questionnaire which consists of around 30 questions, emphasizing 24 points of the union government. This questionnaire will be circulated among the general public to all wards in the city through political representatives”.

At the meet, Mayor Jacintha Alfred inaugurated the suggestion box on smart city at his office.

MLC Ivan D'Souza also appealed MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to use his political influence in the union government to include Mangaluru City in the list of top 20 cities.

On the world class railway station, he said that the DPR was not yet prepared. When it was brought to the notice of the state government, it was told that it does not come under the limits of the state government but that the union government has to do it.

On this occasion Mayor Jacintha Alfred, deputy mayor Purushotham, Shashidar Hegde and others were present.

    Models: 3D..simulated cities programme..so that the Public/janatha can see and visualize may be contribute their wisdom..
    but Keep nature intact..
    We need ECO PARKS.. BICYCLING: WALKING: Parks: Parking is very important..
    children parks...swimming pools...
    so, consultants like : PARSONS:Mace: wsatkins: turner etc.
    all japanese: German:American: singapore: English consultants..
