Dubai, Sep 29: 'Udenthichim Neketram', Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA) celebrated Monthi Fest and 'Novem Jevonn' at India Club, Dubai on Friday September 18.
The day's programme commenced with a prayer dance by talented kids of Golden Talents Dance and Music Institute. President, Cyprian Fernandes warmly welcomed the audience, present in large numbers from all 13 parishes of Moodbidri Varado. He thanked the sponsors and well wishers for supporting and strengthening MVCA for the last 11 years.
The main part of the event, venerating and glorifying our infant mother Mary, was led by Fr Robert Lasrado, as per religious custom with children proceeding in a procession and showering flowers, to the rhythm of “Sakkad Sangatha Melyam” and “Mariyek Hogolsiam”. It was a blessed ambience when the whole gathering joined the beat.
In his message Fr Robert Lasrado requested the gathering to keep Konkani culture alive and to use Konkani language at homes. Other guest of the day Joseph Mathais briefly explained the origin of Monthi Fest and also entertained the audience by singing a Konkani number with his melodious voice.
To encourage the child talents within Moodbidri Varado a 'Talent Show' was held. Many participants showed their talents in different fields, which was much appreciated by audience. All participants were honoured as a token of appreciation for their lovely performance.
Medley by Clifford and team, skits from talented artistes Joel Correa and team, Rudolf Sanctis and team of Udenthichim Neketram and dances from Golden talents dance institute were entertained the audience. Ethan Neil Pinto, Svenia D' abreao, Uvel and Vivel Fernandes and Livana Sanctis exhibited their talents. Various spot prizes and games were conducted for children, gents and ladies.
Lunch was traditional treat with variety of vegetables and Vorn from India Club and Al Shay Restaurant. Everyone relished it and altogether a typical Mangalurean atmosphere could be felt.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Joshve D'Souza. The entire programmeme was compered by Ullas Fernandes and Richard Saldanha and kept audience entertained with their unique style. Music was provided by Clevan Martis.
The programme concluded at 4 pm and the audience of 250 plus enjoyed it to the full and expressed their satisfaction and gave positive reviews.
