Bengaluru, Oct 8: The Opposition BJP has demanded sacking of the Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Dinesh Amin Mattu for participating in a protest held in the City against the recent lynching and subsequent death of a man by a mob at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh on the suspicion of eating beef.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday, BJP spokesperson and MLA C T Ravi condemned Mattu’s participation in the protest organised several civil society groups and activists in front of Town Hall on Wednesday.
The BJP leader urged the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to sack his media advisor forthwith.
Ravi said Mattu has been receiving salary from the government and termed his participation in the protest as "illegal and against the spirit of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964."
"Mattu’s provocative statements would disturb peace and order in the State," the BJP leader said.
Ravi said the small-mindedness of caste in the 21st century and said that a brief look at the matrimonial columns of newspapers would give a fair idea of how people thought in this country.
The BJP leader also criticised the government’s decision to scrap the Goseva Ayoga.
The BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha will hold a protest against the decision to scrap Ayoga at Mysore Bank’s Circle in the city on Friday, he said.
