China, Interpol pledge anti-corruption cooperation


Beijing, Oct 10 (IANS): China and Interpol have pledged to boost cooperation in its fight against corruption.

Briefing China's stance over anti-corruption, Zhao Hongzhu, member of the secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) central committee, said China was ready to work with Interpol to combat transnational crime, including corruption, Xinhua reported on Saturday.

China is playing a leading role in global governance and anti-corruption efforts, Interpol's Secretary-general Jurgen Stock said, adding Interpol would cooperate with China on fighting corruption.

Guo Shengkun, state councillor and public security minister, said China is willing to promote international cooperation on anti-terrorism, cyber security, fight against transborder crimes as well as hunting down fugitive suspects.
