Mangalore, Jul 27: In a major operation, the excise police led by inspector Thamayya and sub-inspector Vinod Kumar busted a liquor den at Padu in Adamkudru and seized liquor, equipments and machinery worth more than one and half lac on Friday July 27 afternoon.

Speaking to Daijiworld sub-inspector Vinod Kumar said that it was a major raid in which 6,000 to 8,000 litres of molasses was seized and destroyed.  He also detailed that police had seized 200 litres of spurious liquor, 4 plastic cans, a big copper vessel (hunda), equipment and piping..

It was a well organized spurious liquor den operated by one Oswald D'Souza of Adamkudru. However, the accused managed to flee the place.  The excise police have begun operation to nab him.
