Sri Lakshmi Janardhan Yakshagana Kala Mandali:  A workshop on Badaga Thittu costumes (Bannada Vesha) is inaugurated here today at 9.30 am by senior costume artist Sakattu Laskhminarayanayya, at the Ambalpady temple, near Udupi.

Regional Conference: Corporation Bank Officers Organization (CBOO) will hold a regional conference at CBOO centre today at 2.30 pm. SDM College of Business Management principal Dr Devaraj K will inaugurate the conference.  Later a business session will also be held. 

The meeting will be addressed by speakers viz CBOO president T R Bhat and Secretary D N Prakash. 

Shifted Dristi Eye Clinic: Dr R N Sujir eminent eye surgeon and former head of ophthalmology department will inaugurate the clinic ‘Dristi Eye and Contact Lens Clinic’ on Sunday, July 29 at 10 am. The said clinic has been shifted to a new premise at Bejai.

The clinic is run by Cornea Specialist and Associate Professor in K S Hegde Medical College Dr Vijay Pai. 

New President of AIBPHEWF: A C Rai the newly appointed president of All-India Banks Physically Handicapped Employees Welfare Federation (AIBPHEWF) has urged the physically challenged bank employees to make use of facilities available to them by the federation. 

According to Rai, the physically challenged bank employees who wish to be members of the federation may contact him stated a press release.

Inauguration of bus-stop: The Shantharam Vamanjur Memorial bus-stand project was inaugurated by the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat president Sushma Janardhan here recently.

Rotary Mangalore president Prakash Kotian installed the new office bearers of the Rotaract club on the occasion. The new members were inducted to the club by the Rotaract club chairman Dr Devdas Rai. The club bulletin ‘Visage’ was released by District Rotaract representative Praveen Jain whereas the annual report was presented by the outgoing secretary Tejpal Polali.

Zonal Rotaract representative Ratnakar Rai, outgoing president Subramanya Salian and others were also present on the occasion.

Guru Poornima celebration: This festival will be celebrated by the Mata Amritananda Math on July 29 at the Math premises at Sultan Bathery road in boloor as per their press release.

The programme starts at 7 am with Lalitha Sahasranamarchana, recital of Guru Geetha, Amrita Meditation, Guru Paduka pooja, Ksheerabhishekam and ends with Mahapraprasada at 12.30 pm. Simultaneously Sarvaishwarya pooja and Mrithyunjaya homa will also be performed.

The Math has also organized a public blood donation camp at the venue from 1 pm to 4 pm, added the press release.

Yoga therapy to reducing obesity: Integral Yoga Satsanga, a public charitable trust will be organizing “chandrayana vrutha” a yoga therapy course, to reduce obesity at Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail, from July 30 to August 28 as per their release. 

The said yoga classes will be held between 6 pm and 7.30 pm added the release.
