Udupi, Jul 28: Former minister Vasant V Salian has asked the district administration to stop Nagarjuna Power Project work at Santur, near here on Friday July 27.
When he paid visit to the spot near St Luke’s Church at Santur, on Friday July 27, he asked the police that were present at the spot to stop the work.
The work was carried here by threatening the locals, alleged sources. If the work continues without respecting the locals’ wishes, the operation to halt the work would be started by locals immediately, Salian warned.
Vijay Hedge, convener of Nagarjuna Virodhi Horata Samiti, who was present on the spot, said that protest will be started from September 1 onwards with the help of various associations.
