New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS): Delegates from diplomatic missions of 34 countries here on Friday urged the NDMC to pay maximum attention to waste management, cleanliness and traffic management.

The suggestions came at an interactive session called by the New Delhi Municipal Council on how to make New Delhi a smart city.

NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar said the civic body would strive to provide efficient civic amenities to ensure world-class quality of life to all the people living in the Indian capital.

Most suggestions from the delegates from missions of 34 countries related to waste management, security, cleanliness and traffic management, an NDMC statement said.

Earlier, NDMC had organised similar interactive sessions with Resident Welfare Associations and traders bodies.

The NDMC is the smallest of civic agencies in the capital. Its zone is home to VVIPs as well as landmarks such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Jantar Mantar, parliament complex, India Gate and the diplomatic enclave.
