Mangalore, Aug 1: Prof B Ramanujam of Chennai-based IMSc (Institute of Mathematical Sciences), inaugurated a new PG course in information security at National Institute of Technology: Karnataka (NITK) in Suratkal near here, on Wednesday July 25.
Ramanujam stressing the need for information security in current digital world urged the first batch of M Tech students to make optimum use of the enormous opportunity available to them, to become professionals in the field of information security.
Prof Sandeep Sancheti, director of NITK presiding over the function also requested the students to make best use of this course. He thanked the ministry for helping the institute in initiating this course.
K Vinay Kumar, head of computer department welcomed the gathering. Alwyn Roshan Pais, coordinator of ISEA (Information Security Education and Awareness) project gave a brief introduction on the course.
