Mangalore, Aug 1: MCC personnel demolished a compound wall including the gate, that had encroached public property,  located on the first cross opposite to Our Lady of Pompei Church, Urwa belonging to some private individual, on Wednesday Aug 1 morning.

Sources said that the owner of the property had previously been informed by MCC to vacate illegal structures.  But he had turned a deaf ear to the orders. Hence, MCC officials led by engineer Balakrishna Gowda demolished the structures on Wednesday morning.

MCC has embarked on a drive to demolish the unauthorized structures that have sprung up across the city.  Accordingly notices have been issued to those persons who have either encroached lands or those who raised building without proper permission.

MCC Demolishes Illegal Structure at Lady Hill - This I fully agree. Such encroached lands by the individuals to build their houses or fences without proper documents or approval by the authorities should be grounded. But when it comes to demolish any building where innocent tenants paid a huge amount should NOT be grounded but legalized after charging the builders a heavy fine.

Also these buildings would never been built without the help of the Government employess or the politicians and such people also be punished. Just by demolishing a building because it was built illegally then the innocent tenants are the loosers for No fault of theirs.
