Bangalore, Aug 2: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that over the years, the City has lost a large number of historical monuments under the tag of development and mordernisation.
Speaking on the occasion of distribution of Kempegowda awards, he said that it’s important to bridge this gap as the younger generation is unaware of the history of the city and doesn’t understand the significance of these buildings.
In his absence, Minister for Health and Family Welfare R Ashok read out the CM’s speech.
“The city has developed leaps and bounds and many new projects like metro rail, mono rail, BIAL airport have been taken up. This is a good sign for development, but a balance should be maintained. Basic facilities at corporation hospitals and schools should be improved and the campuses mordernised as they are an integral part of the system,” he said.
