Gruha Sangeetha Mallika: An art exhibition on account of the valedictory function of ‘Gruha Sangeetha Mallika’ will be held at Govindas College of  Suratkal on Sunday,  August 26 at 9.30 am, stated a press note. This meet will be held to encourage young talents below age 15.
 
The said programme will present a platform for candidates to display their expertise in carnatic music. A discussion on the topic of music will also be conducted by P Nityananda Rao. E Ishwarayya Rao, who will guide the students on it individually. This camp will be a boon for all those who are interested in music.

New office-bearers for students union: The new office bearers for All College Students’ Union of Mangalore University will be elected at TV Ramana Pai Community Hall, here on Saturday August 11 at 10.30 am.
The elections will be conducted by the former syndicate member in the position of election officer, stated Sumith Melroy Karkada president addressing press persons here on Tuesday August 1.

Legal awareness programme: Shree Devi Institute of Social Work and District Legal Services Authority organized a legal awareness programme at the college recently.

Principal district and sessions judge H M Bharathesh stressed the need for social workers to have legal knowledge.

Tulu Academy programme: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy (KTSA) and Kannur University will organize a two-day camp on ‘Preservation of palm scripts and learning of Tulu scripts and learning of Tulu script’ at the Government Degree College in Kasargod (Kerala) on Aug 4 and 5 stated a press release.

There will be 3 resource persons to guide the participants at the camp. M K Seetharam Kulal, president of the academy will preside over the inaugural session.

Janapada Jatre: The Department of Kannada and Culture will organize a two-day ‘Janapada Jatre’ at B C road on Aug 4 and 5 as per an official release.

Minister of Fisheries and Endowment B Nagaraja Shetty will inaugurate the programme while Padmanabha Kottari, MLA will preside over the function.

Employment Training Programme: Branch MSME Development Institute under the
Union Ministry f Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, at Yeyyadi will conduct a one-month long employment oriented training programme in ‘CNC programming and machining and auto CAD-2007’ in August.
