Mangalore, Aug 2: A State-level seminar on the topic ‘Learning language through literature’ sponsored by KSS Temple will be organised as part of the silver jubilee celebrations at KSS College, Subrahmanya, on August 4 and 5.
 
Director of Collegiate Education (Bangalore) Prof K V Kodandaramaiah will inaugurate the function while Department of Collegiate Education (Mangalore) Joint Director Dr W Linda Christy will be the chief guest. 
 
Manasagangothri Department of English Professor T Nageshwar Rao will deliver the keynote address at the function which will be presided over by KSS Temple Managing Committee Chairman T Venkatramana Bhat.

In the session to be held after the inaugural function, Mangalore University Department of English Chairman Dr R Shashidhar will speak on the topic ‘Some historical and theoretical questions in language and literature teaching,’ which will be chaired by CIIL (Mysore) HoD of Folklore Studies Dr Kikkeri Narayan.
 
This will be followed by a paper presentation on the topic ‘Language study through literature’ which will be chaired by Kannada University (Hampi) Chairperson Prof K V Narayan. 
 
Following this, over 15 lecturers from various colleges will present papers on the topic ‘Language vis-a-vis literature- new insights’ which will be chaired by Vivekananda College (Puttur) English Department HoD Dr H Madhav Bhat and KSOU (Mysore) Registrar Dr Radhakrishna Bhat. The day will conclude with a drama presentation of the translated version of Macbeth. 
 
The next day will begin with a lecture on the topic ‘Language means literature’ by Mangalore University Department of Kannada lecturer Dr Shivram Shetty which will be chaired by Raghunath D Shimoga.
 
 A paper presentation on ‘Learning language through literature with special reference to Hindi’ by Corporation Bank, (Mangalore) Chief Manager Dr Dr Jayanthi Prasad Nautiyal will follow. Maharaja Sanskrit College (Mysore) Lecturer Vidwan Gangadhar Bhat will speak on the topic ‘Preservation of language and its development in the era of technology’.
