South Korea, US hold talks on cyber threats


Seoul, Oct 27 (IANS): South Korea and the US held talks on Tuesday on how to strengthen cooperation on protecting against potential cyber attacks, Seoul's defence ministry said.

"The latest meeting is aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the cyber defense sector and improving joint response capabilities against cyber threats," Yonhap News Agency reported citing the ministry as saying.

The third Cyber Cooperation Working Group held in Seoul discussed sharing intelligence on cyber threats and joint efforts to fend off potential attacks on the cyber space.

The meeting was each headed by Park Rae-ho, defence ministry director general, and US Under Secretary of Defence for Policy, Sean R. Filipowski.
