Bengaluru, Oct 30: The state high court has granted bail to five persons, who allegedly were involved with an incident of immoral rowdyism at Attavar here a few months ago.

The accused persons, Abhiram, Kiran, and three others had approached the high court, seeking bail. The single judge bench headed by Justice A V Chandrashekhar, which took up their petitions, upheld their pleas and granted bail to them.

The court concurred with the arguments that there are no direct evidence of the involvement of the petitioners in the said incident, and that the complainants had not provided to the police accurate details of the accused. The bench therefore drew the inference that the accused were eligible to be set free on bail.

A woman employee of 'Easy Day' store at Attavar had complained that she had been forced to get into a car by her boss, after which he behaved with her in an improper manner. A group of youngsters had assaulted the accused, after which a complaint was lodged in the city (south) police station. The lower court had rejected the bail applications moved by the petitioners and remanded them to judicial custody.
