Bike on wrong side involved with accident - rider killed

Udupi, Nov 5: After two motor bikes collided head-on near the shrine of Naraltaya at Yermal Tenka near Padubidri in the taluk on the night of Wednesday November 4, one of the riders lost his life, while the other suffered critical injuries.

The person who lost his life in the accident was Jayant (45) from Poondadu, Yermal. He breathed his last before he reached a private hosptital at Padubidri for preliminary treatment. Pruthvi (20) from Kanchinadka here, who was riding the other motor bike, suffered head injuries. He is being treated in a private hospital in the town.

This accident reminded one of the previous accidents which had occurred in the area on November 1. Like that accident, this too happened between a motor bike that was moving towards Padubidri from the town on its correct path, and the one which came from the wrong direction. Pruthvi was moving on the correct side of the road, it is gathered.

Jayant is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. A case about the accident was filed in Padubidri police station.
