Mangalore: Sri Rama Sene Warns of Road Blockade

Mangalore: Sri Rama Sene has warned of staging road blockade, if the district administration did not ensure the repairs to the National Highway immediately to help smooth and safe traffic.
Legal adviser Dinkar Shetty and other office-bearers of Sene expressed concern over the plight of Dakshina Kannada, which was most likely to remain secluded if immediate action was not taken.
The Sene urged the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to prevent further damage to NH.
Co-conveners Kumar Malemar and Subhas Padil, Madhusudan Urvastore convener, Go Rakshana Pramukh Vishwanatha Nermarga were present on the occasion.
Demand to speed up teachers' recruitment

Mangalore: The government has been urged, to speed up the process of teachers’ recruitment at degree colleges, by the Mangalore University Private College Management’s Association in Karnataka.
The government had issued an order for recruitment nine months back, yet the department of collegiate education has failed to take up a time-bound action, said H Shantharam association president and Y Bhaskar Shetty federation president in a joint release.
An unofficial ban was imposed by the government since 1986 on recruitment in degree colleges and thereafter made it official in 2001. After much effort, an order was passed by the government on November 13, 2006, to fill up vacant teaching posts
Pranayama centre on the anvil
Mangalore:: Om Sri Mukhya Pranayama Yoga Tarabeti Kendra (Om Sri Mukhya Pranayama centre for Pranayama and Yoga) will establish a training centre of Pranayama and meditation at Jeppu Kudupadidota Mookambika Sannidhi, said Chandrakanth Guruji at press conference here on Monday August 13.
He further said that the help of donors is sought to establish the training centre.
The sessions of meditation and pranayama will be conducted in two batches, every day, and if required he is ready to conduct more batches, Guruji brought to the notice.
Pranayama and meditation have medical values; it helps one to reduce fat, and lessen the risk of obesity, and chances of diabetes, he informed.
RM Taranatha Shetty, Bhaskar Rao and LM Pradeep Shetty were present at the press meet.
Srinivas Pathashala Association Celebrates Diamond Jubilee

Mangalore: Sri Srinivas Patashala Association will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee Celebration and Nalanda English Medium School its bi decennial -2008 at School Auditorium here on Wednesday August 15 at 10 am, said Mohan Pai honorable secretary of the institution at press conference here on Monday August 13.
The programme will be inaugurated by Ln governor HG Venkatesh district governor of Lions Clubs International Dist 324 D5.
Ln K Mohan Kamath vice district governor of Lions Clubs International, Dist 324 D5, P Ramachandra Prabhu managing trustee of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Ln Angel Rodriguez president of Lions Club Hampankatta will be the chief guest, he added.
