Bangalore, Aug 16: Namma India @ 60 organized a freedom run on Diamond Independence Day starting from Ulsoor Lake, with a the theme 'Feel India from your heart with pride'.
Over 2000 students participated in the freedom run. Other eminent personalities were Kenneth Powel, S C Burman, former DGP, athlete Ashwini Nachappa, swimmer Nisha, actor Arun Prabhakar, Tara and many more. Tight security was provided by the police force.
This was followed by baton run by 4 students from each school totalling to 60 students, who changed the baton from Ulsoor Lake to CMR Institutions at HRBR Layout.
All the participants were given a T-shirt with Namma India logo. Some of the schools which participated in the run are Maruthi Vidyalaya, Maxwell Public School, St Fathima School, Marshi Agastiga Vidyalaya, Good Year English School, Evershine, Sindy, CMR National Public School, Laxmi Memorial and many more in addition to many organaizations like NGEF, Deccan Herald, State Board etc.
All in all, it was a great event to be remembered especially children as they were thrilled to take part and receive their awards of appreciation.
