Mangaluru, Nov 23: 'Alva's Nudisiri 2015', the literary and cultural extravaganza hosted by Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri will be held from November 26 to November 29 at Sundari Anand Alva campus of Alva's Educational Institutions, Moodbidri.
"The fest will be inaugurated on November 26 at 6 pm on 'Shrimathi Vanajakshi K Shripathi Bhat' stage," said Dr M Mohan Alva president of Alvas Education Foundation, addressing a press meet here on Monday November 23.
He also added that veteran scholar Dr T V Venkatachala Shastri will be presiding over the programme, while well-known writer from Dharwad, Dr Veena Shantheshwara will be inaugurating Alva's Nudisiri 2015. The Nudisiri conference hall will be named after Nadoja Dr Kayyar Kinhanna Rai. The event will be held on the theme 'Karnataka: Hosathanada Hudukaata'.
Briefing about the programme, he said that 500 guests will be seated on stage during the inauguration, and 700 achievers in various fields have been invited for the conference which will be held on the 4 days of the event.
Also, 10 achievers from various fields will be honoured with 'Alva's Nudisiri Award-2015'. They are Padmashree Dr Bannanje Govindacharya in the field of literature, Dr Sumathendra Nadiga in literature, Rajendra Singh Babu in the field of cinema, Vidwan R K Padmanabha in the field of classical music, Dr B N Sumithra Bhai in the field of literature, Eshwara Daidotta in the field of journalisim, Leelavathi Baipadithaya in the field of Yakshagana, Varthooru Narayana Reddy in the field of agriculture, Shilpi Honappachar in the field of sculpture, Sayyed Sallaudin Pasha in the field of cultural service.
"Alva's Education Foundation will also hold 'Alva's Vidhyarthi Siri-2015' on Rathnakaravarni stage on November 26. P Sheshadri, national film award winner will inaugurate this event. Shalika Yekkar from Saint Sicily High School will preside over the programme," Dr Mohan Alva said.
